The Interior Design Club and Benefits
About the Club:
Learning doesn't just happen in the class-room. Much can be gained by tapping into the resources provided by the WVCIDC! Your membership with the Club is the perfect opportunity to find or become a mentor, and to mold your experience into what you envision.
As a critical resource for all members, the West Valley College Interior Design Club allows you access to program and industry information, provides opportunities to interact and network with other students, professionals, and the community at large, enhances the learning experience, and offers additional education opportunities.
The club is formed by Interior Design Students that want to make a positive impact on their fellow students and classmates. It is important to have support through the strenuous, but very rewarding, Interior Design Program at West Valley College. The WVCIDC wants to support you through your journey at West Valley College and seeks to provide you opportunities to experience that sense of community that we provide.
Club Officers or Board Members:
The board members of the club seek to be helpful and compassionate and to act in the best interest of the club members. The board is made up of volunteers who believe in the club's mission:
The West Valley College Interior Design Club (WVCIDC) empowers students to succeed through collaborative activities that foster career development and inspires passion for the profession. This goal is accomplished by building on the foundation of education, experience, development, and leadership.
The WVCIDC board members work hard to produce events and seminars relevant to you! Email notifications are sent directly to Club members. Weekly emails are sent to Class Reps who make announcements in classes. If you would like to volunteer to be a Class Representative you can contact the President or our current Membership Chair. Contact information can be found on the Officers page.
Professional Organizations in tandem with WVCIDC:
The WVCIDC is a student chapter(or campus center) of four professional organizations:
Being a member of the WVCIDC does not automatically mean that you are a member of these professional organizations. If you would like more information on becoming a member of any one of these organizations view their individual pages of the site.
Design Library:
The club maintains the WVC Design Library located in room AAS 8. The Library provides both samples and literature of finishes and furnishings to fulfill project requirements. Students are to clean up after themselves each time they use the Library.
The Design Library Chair(s) also do special projects to maintain the Design Library. If you would like information on volunteering your time in the Design Library please contact the current chair. Contact info can be found on our Officers page.
Get Involved!
You have not taken full advantage of your membership with the WVCIDC until you have been involved in volunteer efforts. Volunteering is the best way to be active and participate in club activities. To see a full list of committees and to contact the current board member that leads that committee please visit the board members.
Not getting email?
If you know you are a member but you have not been receiving regular Club emails, please contact the Club President directly.
