President's Message

Welcome Back to 2007-2008!

The West Valley College Interior Design Club is ready to hit the ground running. This year our theme is Success. Over the summer your wonderful outgoing and incoming boards have organized events that are geared to help you successfully navigate your education and transition from student to professional.

Communication is the key to success. The greatest benefit of being a club member is a community of peers with whom to exchange know-how, ideas, and inspiration.

This year, class reps will play a lead role as liaisons between the board and club members this is an ideal position for first time board members.
Our meticulously revamped website holds a wealth of information regarding classes, club and industry events, jobs and internships, and trustworthy resources.
The WVCIDC Forum (formerly the Message Board) should be your first stop for news, research, resources, getting involved in activities, and for peer feedback.
Also look for event posters on our clubs orange bulletin board, and for members only emails to keep you in the know about upcoming events, competitions, scholarships, and pertinent news.

You have to shape your learning experience into what you envision it should be. By joining the club, you will not only enhance your classroom learning, but you will also join a community of peers and professionals that will expand your opportunities for success significantly.

Being active in the club has opened many doors for me and I highly recommend joining a committee as a volunteer, or taking a leadership position as the chair of a committee. It can be as easy as volunteering for one day, or seeing a project through from beginning to end. The Activities Co-Chair and ICC Rep Positions are still available, and there will be numerous volunteer opportunities. Contact any of the board members for more information.

P.S. We have already begun work on our latest philanthropy project CASA Activity Room, this will be a very rewarding project, you must join in! Contact Philanthropy Chair, Joanna, via email.
