Why Become a Member

Learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom. Much can be gained by tapping into the resources provided by the Interior Design Club! Your membership with the Club is the perfect opportunity to find or become a mentor, and to mold your experience into what you envision.

How Do I join?

  • Fall and Spring Membership Kickoffs are held at the beginning of each semester. This is our biggest event and highlight our program and the benefits of becoming a member.
  • If you are unable to attend these meetings, Membership-form can be found in the Design Resource Center or on line (add link). Payments can be made by cash or check and a deposit box is located in the Design Resource Library.

Become a Board Member:

  • The Board is made up of volunteers who believe in the Club’s mission: Empowering students to succeed through collaborative activities that foster career development and inspires passion for the profession. This goal is accomplished by building on the foundation of education, experience, development, and leadership.
  • The Club board members work hard to produce events and seminars relevant to you!  If you would like to volunteer to join as a board member, or join a subcommittee, you can contact the President or our Membership Chair. Contact information can be found on our Meet the Board  page.

Become a student member of a Professional Organization:

The Interior Design Club is a student chapter (or campus center) of three professional organizations:

  • ASID – American Society of Interior Designers
  • IIDA – International Interior Design Association
  • NKBA – National Kitchen and Bath Association
  • Being a member of the Interior Design Club does not automatically mean that you are a member of these professional organizations. If you would like more information on becoming member of any of these organizations, view their individual pages of the site or contact one of the Liaisons found on our Meet the Board page.

Design Resource Center:

  • The Club maintains the Design Resource Center located in CIL 127 of the Cilker Art and Design Building. The Library provides both samples and literature of finishes and furnishings to fulfill project requirements. We are always looking for volunteers to help maintain the Resource center and acquire design materials. If you are interested, contact the Design Resource Center Chair on our Meet the Board page.

Get Involved!

  • You have not taken full advantage of your membership with the Interior Design Club until you have been involved in volunteer efforts. Volunteering is the best way to be active and participate in club activities. To see a full list of committees and to contact the board member that leads that committee please visit the Meet the Board page.
